I saw the mama cat who is now called Whiskers, around Sept 9th, 2003. One month later on October 9th I saw the mother cat with her kittens. I was totally surprised and delighted. Someone had left them there and they were living in a ground hog hole in front of my house. Every time I tried to see where they were living they disappeared on me then I caught them jumping in the hole.
I started feeding the mother since she was eating birdseed and bread that was for the birds. She was starving. One week later I trapped the kittens in my kitty carrier. The mother I just picked up by the back of the neck and brought her in the house without a fight. It was getting too cold outside for them and I was afraid a coyote may get them all. She warmed up to me after I fed her and her kittens for a week. She was so greatful. She started purrring and let me pet her.
Welcome to my Echo Mtn Feline Photo Gallery.
Here is my cat story and new Photos of our new mama cat and her wild kittens that were rescued recently from living in a ground hog hole. I just got around to putting up the photos of the kittens before we captured them.
We have had them since October 16th. I like them all. They all have thumbs too, just like Muffy, our older main cat. The kittens are very playful chasing a mouse with a micro chip in it. The mouse squeaks when it is moved. It is something new on the market. They all like the fish dangling from a Fisher Price fishing pole. That is their favorite toy. We also have a ball that goes around with a scratching cardboard circle inside it. This is one favorite toy.
The mother is very affectionate and the kittens are getting used to all of us. I wonder why someone would give her up with her kittens too. The kittens are adorable. The mother is smart too. She comes when I call her and when I tap my lap she comes also. She wants to go outside but does not want to leave her kittens too when I tried to show her the rest of the basement.
We are keeping all of them. Muffy will just have to get used to them. I think a fenced in backyard is best for any animals to protect them from other cats and other animals that prey on them.
Mittens looks like one of our cats, named Sugarpaw, that disappeared on us back in 1995. She is my favorite but I also like them all. When I get new photos that are cute, I will post them here. Mittens and Nicky are boys and Rocky is a girl.
I hope that you have enjoyed looking at them as much as I I do. If you treat animals right they will give back so much more. ;-)
