These are my own originally designed handmade polymer clay coffee coasters to used every day to enjoy looking at and to protect your furniture. The "eye" coaster came about naturally.

I enjoy making these coasters as a hobby because I love the colors plus they have a use. They are fun to make. These coasters are all hand mixed, kneaded, shaped, and baked in the oven. There is a lot more mixing of clay involved, so it takes a lot more time to do these. Here are a few names that I have given them...(spirals, ocean swirl, seashell, crazy lace agate, zinnia flower, and starburst)......the last few I like a lot and they took a lot more time.
Each color has to be kneaded, worked, and mixed and pressed and joined together. I mix in flecks of gold to give it a special shine that I like a lot and I think you will too. After thoroughly mixing, I carefully shape the clay into a circle with a flat edge. Thickness is around 1/4" or more. A clear glaze is on the bottom for protection. I also may put two coats of a satin glaze on both sides and then it is washable but most of them, I do not glaze because the metallics or mica shines nicely.
For gifts, I may put felt dots or cork pads added on the bottom for protection on furniture. I also have made hotplates, size is 6" , even thou they are larger I try to keep the bumps and air bubbles out.

Diameter of each is approx. 4-5" diameter. Hotplates size is around 6" in diameter.

The colors in the coaster to the left are: gold, teal, gold flecks, pink, copper,blue and white. This one has no glaze. Right now, it has a satin look to it and without the glaze I actually prefer.
The gold flecks of mica make it shiny in the light. I put felt tabs on the bottom for protection. It is a very pretty one. This one is my favorite.
